After a disappointing 2015-16 campaign, Johnny Jones and his LSU coaching staff have done surprisingly well recruiting for the class of 2017.

That got even better Wednesday, when four-star small forward Brandon Rachal committed to the Tigers.

“I took my visit recently it just hit me that this might be the place for me,” Rachal told Scout.com. “It just felt great. Even though it’s not home, it feels like home to me.”

Rachal joins fellow four-star Galen Alexander as LSU commits in the class of 2017.

“I want to come in and be a killer,” he told Scout. “I’m going to be good on defense and offensively I’m so versatile. I think I can play and defend any position on the court so I think being able to do that and surrounding me with other players that are versatile can open up a lot of what we do as a team and caused problems for different schools.”
